2021 Halliday Wine Companion Featured Wines

We were very happy to receive some fantastic reviews for five of our Rosabrook favourites in the newly released 2021 Halliday Wine Companion.

Our Single Vineyard Cabernet 2016, SBS 2019, Chardonnay 2018, Shiraz 2018 and Cab Merlot 2018 have all been included in this years guide with over 89 points each.

Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2016:

“Hand-picked fruit from 25yo vines, open-fermented and on dryness run into new barrels, 12 months in oak. Some toasty oak influence with this release, although the varietal and regional personalities are mainly calling the tune with redcurrant, mulberry, cedar and bay leaf playing a part. Rich and quite soft for the style but underpinned by firm tannin.”

Rosabrook SBS 2019:

“A roughly 50/50% blend, cold-fermented in stainless steel. It’s a familiar theme as soon as you put your nose in the glass – pea pod and mown grass, passionfruit and mango or something similarly tropical. A well crafted example of the style, deft winemaking utilising good quality fruit. Chill it down and drink it, don’t think long and hard about it.”91 Points

Rosabrook Chardonnay 2018:

“Line and length Margaret River chardonnay; not one to set the pulse racing, but ticks the requisite boxes. Peachy varietal aromas with some nutty/nougat character, presumably from oak, although the winemaker’s notes describe it as ‘lightly oak matured’. The flavours are fresh and the mouthfeel and finish show above average quality – it’s a safe bet at the price.”
91 Points

Shiraz 2018:

“The gamey, slightly funky aromas pretty typical of shiraz from this region are prominent on the bouquet, but there’s red berry, spice and oak in there as well. Medium-bodied and soft, the overall feel is quite savoury, but there’s some sweetness to the fruit on the palate and it’s an easily approachable style. A good match for something like chargrilled steak.”
