Recent Awards and Accolades

We have recently received some great reviews and ratings that we would love to share with you all!

Cellar Talk, West Australian rated our 2021 Chardonnay 92 points! They reviewed our Chardonnay by saying, “A modern, fresh, easy drinking wine with a little complexity from the oak component. It has a citrus and nectarine character on the palate with a little creaminess and nuttiness. A fresh and precisely focused wine that carries to a long and sustained finish.”

But there’s more for our Chardonnay…

Erin Larkin from the Halliday Wine Companion, rated our 2021 Chardonnay by saying, “Fermentation in seasoned French oak. 2021 was an odd one for Margaret River, with 2 major rain events right before and during harvest that provided some nail-biting times for viticulturists and winemakers. We are only just seeing these wines come onto the market now. Very delicate flavour profile here, nothing overt or intense- white peach, apple and jasmine tea make up the core of the experience. Length of flavour is there, but it's quiet, you have to pay attention. Very pretty.”

Erin also reviewed our 2020 Shiraz in the Halliday Wine Companion with 93 points, saying, “Delicious. Bouncy forest fruit is underpinned by a judicious sprinkle of exotic spice and toasty oak. The overall effect is one of sybaritic pleasure- not bad for $26.”

It doesn’t end here! Erin then went on to review and rate our “Dear Father” Reserve Cabernet, with 93 points! Sh said this wine is, “100% Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for 16 months in French oak. This is plum mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon: elegant and spicy, supple, ripe. The 2019 vintage was cool and wet and yielded wines of nuance and detail. This is such a wine. Classically structured and styled rather than modern, but classy for it.”

More from the Real Review!

Stuart Knox from the Real Review also rated and reviewed our 2021 Chardonnay, along with our 2017 SVE Chardonnay and our 2017 SVE Cabernet Sauvignon.

Stuart gave our 2021 Chardonnay a great score of 90 points. He also followed this rating by saying, “Pale lemon yellow. Nectarine, mango, and pea-shoot aromatics. Bright and fresh nectarine fruit on the palate, a saline minerality sits through the middle and accentuates the bright acidity. Good length to a clean finish. Appealing in its fresh simplicity.”

It doesn’t stop there!

Stuart awarded our 2017 SVE Cabernet Sauvignon with 93 points and described it as, “Deep ruby with purple tints at the rim. Dark berries, black, olive and woody spices lift from the glass. A deep and full bodied Cabernet that shows layers of fruit, spice, and meaty undertones, all combining to add complexity and character. Tannins are a fine gravel that pushes the palate long and dry to the finish.”

Stuart also rated our SVE 2017 Chardonnay with 91 points and reviewed this one as, “A light straw-gold colour. Nose shows some developing honey notes over yelloe peach and bacon fat aromas. Full bodied and mouth-filling, it has a creamy stone fruit mid-palate whilst a rich spice of roast nuts and cumin brings a lot of character. The power drives it long and it lingers with a delicate floral and saline mineral note at the finish.”

We are also very pleased to announced that we have received some reviews and ratings from Ray Jordan!

Ray reviewed our 2018 Tempranillo in The West Australian Wine Guide. He rated our Tempranillo with 92 points, the following words, “This tempranillo has settled down rather nicely with a little extra bottle time. It’s plush and generous with a plump, fleshy palate packed with that mix of raspberry and plum and supported by slightly toasty oak. The American oak seems a good choice to further complement the fruit. Finishes with a slightly savoury character.”

But there’s more…

Andrew Caillard MW reviewed and rated our “Dear Father” Reserve Cabernet with 94 points, and followed this amazing rating with the following words, “Deep crimson. Very attractive blackberry, mocha, roasted coffee aromas with hints of sage. Sweet-fruited wine with deep-set blackberry pastille, praline, mocha flavours, fine grainy tannins, superb mid-palate richness and long fresh minerality. A plume of tannins at the finish. Very well made crowd-pleasing style.”

We are very pleased to share these awards with you!
