We are extremely excited to release the 2010 Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has been patiently waiting since being bottled in December 2011 for its release. The 2009 vintage of the Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was extremely popular and sold out within months. It received multiple awards and fantastic reviews including 95 points from James Halliday; we believe the 2010 vintage is even better.
The grapes for the Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate range comes from Rosabrook’s premier vineyard, which overlooks the spectacular Geographe Bay in the northern part of the Margaret River wine region. The Rosabrook vines are Lyre trellised and are over thirty years old. The close proximity to the coast provides perfect moderate climate conditions with warm days and cool nights during the ripening season. The fine gravels over ironstone with deeper schists impart a richness and depth of flavour to the fruit, which is reflected in the terroir of the wines, in classical Margaret River style.
All the fruit from the Rosabrook vineyard is carefully hand picked and each bunch individually selected. The grapes for the Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet were hand plunged in open cap fermenters and party barrel fermented in high quality new French oak with malolactic fermentation completed in oak.
The 2010 vintage of the Rosabrook Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is deep coloured and dark fruited wine which will require some medium term bottle maturation to see its potential and a full expression of the single vineyard site. Deep and rich tannins are indicative of low cropped balanced vines and will support the wine for some years to come.
