2008 Merlot
Winemaker's Notes
Deep purple red with a dark cherry core leads to an aroma of dark cherry and mocha layered over fine vanillin oak. The palate is ripe and generous with savoury flavours of plum and spice leading to a generous mouth filling middle palate. Fine grained tannins lead to the finish of this delicate and smooth wine.
Vintage Notes
2008 in Margaret River was a top red vintage. A warm spring and fine sunny autumn brought just about every red vineyard to perfect maturity.
Vineyard Notes
Our vineyards are in northern Margaret River with soils of mostly fine clay loams over ironstone. All vines are vertically shoot positioned and run in north south aspect.
Vinification Notes
All grapes were harvested at optimum maturity and each parcel was fermented and assessed separately, selected for oak maturation and matured with a mixture of French and American oak for 12 months
