2014 Single Vineyard Estate Chardonnay
Hand-picked fruit and low extract winemaking make this a wine with clear lifted fruit and a fine delicate structure. Complex and savoury aromas lead to a tight crisp persistent finis leads to a wine suited to bottle age.
An early vintage brought about by a continuation of fine and warm weather over summer delivered fruit for what was to be an excellent white vintage.
Drawn from our most southern Margaret River source of Chardonnay so that we could accentuate pure fruit flavours.
Hand-picked fruit was chilled overnight, bunch pressed and a low extract juice was fermented 100 % in a mixture of oak ages and forests. After eight months in maturation, the wine was clarified and held cold until bottling.
James Halliday Wine Companion 2017
“A brilliantly incisive and energetic chardonnay, with a complex smoky bouquet and exceptional drive to the palate, grapefruit and minerally acidity are intertwined, and the wine cries out for another 2-3 years in bottle to show its full majesty.”
