2015 Single Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Deeply coloured, with the classic unmistakable Margaret River bouquet of briar Cabernet with a rich and structured palate.
One of the better years in the region for red wines.
Located in north of the Margaret River region our low yielding vineyard was planted almost 25 years ago to a lyre trellis, obligating hand picking.
Hand-picked grapes were fermented in a single open fermenter and plunged daily. On dryness the wine was run to new barrels. Racked several times, it was finally bottled after twelve months in oak and laid down for further maturation until release.
Silver medal at the Perth Royal Wine Awards 2018.
90 Points Huon Hooke, The Real Review:
“Deep red colour with a good tint of purple, the bouquet toasty-oaky and laced with coconut, the palate very big, tannic, full-bodied. The wine has abundant acidity and the tannins are firm and grippy, ensuring it will age well, although it would be very good now with cheese or meat. Lots of oak, acid and tannin! Oak has been pushed to the max.” (Huon Hooke)
